How do you describe that weird chemical taste that’s common in cheap wine?
I’ve been struggling for awhile now to describe that off-putting chemical taste that’s common in bad bad cheap wine. Which I now realize makes it particularly difficult to write a post on said flavor. Doing my best - it is a strong chemical flavor like it’s been industrially processed. I wouldn’t say it’s bitter. It’s almost kind of like old, rotten fruit. It’s definitely more common in whites from what I remember. It’s also been more common in American wines, but that might also just be selection bias. I hope that’s enough to convey my idea, but I can try adding more if not. Thanks for all the help!
